Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: LaGrange, GA
Job Type and Duration: Direct Hire
Pay rate: $85,000 - $115,000 plus bonus

POSITION SUMMARY
Under general direction, initiates, plans, designs, and oversees the manufacture of OEM equipment and major equipment modernization projects to meet customer requirements. Projects will be completed in accordance with existing Engineering design practices and standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop design concepts, calculations, layouts, assemblies, pneumatic & hydraulic schematics, ventilation layouts, and detail drawings in accordance with OSHA, NIOSH and applicable codes. Create associated bills of material.
• Review sales order, customer specifications and related documents to ensure the design meets customer requirements. Prepare for, attend, and actively participate in all meetings associated with the project.
• Prepare required forms including purchasing specifications and requisitions, partial releases, final releases, revision releases, customer adjustments, approval prints, certified prints, and other forms required by ISO procedures and work instructions.
• Compile 0 & M Manual drawings list and recommended spare parts lists. Update parts book drawings in accordance with Engineering revisions and EMP orders.
• Interact with the Supply Chain and field representatives to resolve design related issues. Some travel may be required to verify design fit up and requirements.
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineering on the application and operation of specific designs.
• Coordinate and interface with other departments to affect solutions associated with OEM and aftermarket business. This may include loading or classifying parts, providing technical assistance to sales or customers, and updating or improving past designs to facilitate completion of customer orders.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or university) in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Seven to twelve years related experience required.
• Strong skills in 2D and 3D design software, specifically AutoCAD and SolidWorks along with Microsoft Office applications.
• Understand and utilize fundamental design practices and demonstrate experience in product design using CAD and/or 3D modeling software. Understanding and experience in stress calculations and machine drive calculations, pneumatic and hydraulic components and controls, standard welding practices, bill of material structure, and revision control.
