Lead/Senior Estimator

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our team. This role will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of private and public sector projects including educational, municipal, retail, and other commercial buildings.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in estimating commercial construction projects and a deep understanding of construction means and methods, subcontractor scopes, and bid preparation. We're looking for someone who can work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for public and private commercial construction projects
• Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates
• Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier bids
• Prepare budgets and cost studies for conceptual, schematic, and design development phases
• Assist project management with cost analysis and value engineering
• Attend pre-bid meetings and walk-throughs when needed
• Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and internal project teams
• Maintain a database of historical cost data and unit pricing

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in commercial construction (public and/or private sectors is a plus)
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods
• Experience with both hard bid and negotiated work
• Proficient in reading blueprints, plans, and technical specifications
• Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar)
• Excellent analytical and math skills with high attention to detail
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
