What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diabetes Educator position at Essentia Health?
Job Description:
Design and deliver diabetes management education and services for people within a defined population. Patients may be seen in a clinic office, inpatient or community setting according to the scope of practice, standards of practice, and standards of professional performance by the American Diabetes Association and/or the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. Must have knowledge of current diabetes standards and maintain required annual continuing education. Facilitates the attainment and maintenance of optimal level of health for individuals with diabetes by collaborating with other health care members to develop the diabetes plan of care. Work Experience: Minimum 3 years clinical or education experience in applicable clinical area.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Current Registered Dietitian license in the appropriate state
Current certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) with the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) OR American Association for Diabetes Educators (AADE) OR must become certified within 2 years of hire.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to become certified within 3 months from date of hire.

The approximate base compensation range is posted, but the actual offer will reflect our total compensation and benefits package. The offer will be determined by a number of factors including the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, FTE, as well as internal equity among our team.
