We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Tax Intern to support our tax team during the summer. This internship provides hands-on exposure to state and federal tax compliance, tax accounting, and cross-functional projects. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and interested in pursuing a career in tax, accounting, or finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with state and federal income tax return preparation
- Support preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns
- Help prepare and analyze state apportionment schedules
- Assist with preparation and analysis of federal tax workpapers and quarterly tax accounting processes
- Conduct tax research and summarize findings
- Organize and maintain tax files and supporting documentation
- Investigate federal/state notice issues and prepare responses
- Collaborate with the tax team and other departments on ongoing projects, including process improvement (e.g., workpaper automation and data visualization) and federal/state audit support
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related field (including data-focused)
- Interest in taxation, accounting, or corporate finance
- Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
