What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inspector position at ETC?

Bring your background in quality and manufacturing, your willingness and desire to learn, and technical aptitude to ETC and join us! We are looking for an Inspector to join our Quality team in Mazo. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience performing inspection duties, computer skills including SAP, knowledge of quality procedures, and of course, attention to detail. In this role you will be involved with our growing product lines to ensure a quality product is sent to our customers.
Representative Responsibilities:

  • Assists with developing inspection processes for Quality Assurance use
  • Maintains and updates inspection lists as needed
  • Creates and maintains part files as needed
  • Provides input in departmental procedure development or improvement activities
  • Tracks and analyzes production data as they relate to quality
  • Reports quality performance as required
  • Prepares weekly reports reporting on quality trends as required.
  • Participate in the disposition of nonconforming material
  • Uses product knowledge to maintain quality standards
  • Completes Quality at the source and NCMR processes appropriately
  • Investigates, communicates, and resolves custom issues
  • Conducts Level 1 MRB activity and takes appropriate action
  • Initiate and participate in Level 2 or higher MRB activities
  • Coordinates MRB dispositions material in a timely fashion
  • Communicates pertinent incoming inspection issues with the appropriate Incoming Inspector
  • Reports failure patterns/rates, as required
  • Initiates Engineering Changes Requests and Deviations when appropriate
  • Participates as a quality representative in meetings
  • Works as an Incoming Inspector as required for the following activities
  • Inspects vendor products
  • Communicates with ETC vendors to resolve non-conformances
  • Builds and improves relationships with ETC vendors
  • Builds relationships with other organizations at ETC
  • Initiates RMAs and SCAR’s when appropriate
  • Works as an In-Process Inspector as required
  • Works on manufacturing issues for parts and products
  • Builds relationships with other organizations at ETC
  • Performs final inspections on products
  • Performs Pilot Runs & Reviews
  • Reviews BOMs, drawings, and work orders for accuracy
  • Notes issues found during the pilot run
  • Adheres to safety standards at all times
  • Ensures that safe methods and practices are used
  • Abides by safety procedures, work practice control, and OSHA guidelines
  • Wears personal protective equipment when required
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Ensures after task is completed, floor is swept, and tools are returned to designated area
  • Organizes work area so that another person can locate tools and information easily
  • Maintains tools regularly
  • Participates in ISO 9000 internal audits
  • Assist in the Administration of the ISO calibration system
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Special projects and requests are completed in a timely and positive fashion

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or its equivalent (GED)
  • 2-3 years of production experience and/or inspection experience
  • Knowledge of production and quality procedures
  • Able to read prints and schematics
  • Able to use inspection tools
  • Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Access, e-mail, SAP, and Windows)
  • Knowledge of company policies
  • Able to use hand tools, small power tools
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Able to interpret and follow assembly drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
