Estimator
Job Summary:
Support the Preconstruction department in a variety of tasks to include accurate bidding of plumbing and HVAC work along with assisting in daily operations or tasks as delegated by the Preconstruction Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, and Plumbing drawings/specifications in order to compile an accurate cost estimate.
- Takeoff quantity of items (pipe, valves, fittings, ductwork, equipment, etc.) from mechanical and plumbing drawings.
- Input takeoff (quantity survey) from your own or other estimator’s work to prepare accurate and complete estimates.
- Obtain scopes of work and pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assist in the bid review process, attend turnover meetings, etc.
- Perform job site surveys and meetings with contractors, facility managers, owners, etc.
- Analyze historical data, help prepare budgets, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/business or five years of HVAC industry experience
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
- Career minded
- Physical activities include standing, balancing, climbing stairs and ladders, walking and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. are required.
