Job Title: Facilities Coordinator

Reports To: Facilities Director
Classification: Non-exempt, Full time
Work Schedule: This will be a Wednesday through Sunday position after training is complete, with Mondays and Tuesdays off. Occasional night shifts will be required.
Job Grade: 6
Wage Range: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, DOE. NOTE: We offer many great benefits, including a 12% employer contribution to a retirement savings account after 2 years. Medical benefits are not currently included in our benefits package, though they will be implemented at some point in the next few years.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Essential Functions
Facility Maintenance and Repairs

Assist with day-to-day maintenance, including laundry tasks and performing basic repairs on laundry machines.

Ensure all areas of the Y are supplied with necessary items (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.) and kept clean (e.g., debris removal, locker room cleaning, parking area maintenance).

Support the Facilities Director with preventative maintenance activities.

Respond to and assist with facility help tickets.

Provide detailed reports and feedback to the Facilities Director regarding maintenance repairs and facility conditions.

Perform general carpentry repairs as needed.

Provide light plumbing support when required.

Perform minor painting and touch-up tasks.

Clean drinking fountain trays and private changing room drains weekly.

Maintain the cleanliness of the sauna.

Pressure wash indoor and outdoor areas of the Y as needed.

Replace shower curtains regularly.
Pool and Spa Maintenance

Clean and maintain the hot tub, including cleaning and replacing pool strainer baskets.

Monitor and adjust pool and spa chemical levels as needed.

Run frequent bump cycles for pool filters.

Backwash spray pad and hot tub.

Monitor chlorinator feeders and replenish tablets as necessary.

Perform daily inspections of the pool mechanical room and systems.

Address and restore areas affected by corrosion on the pool deck.
Offer maintenance support to Y staff to maintain an optimal work environment.

Coordinate and communicate with vendors or subcontractors as needed.

Assist with event setups and takedowns as required.
Safety and Compliance

Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Uphold organizational confidentiality at all times.

Provide essential services during emergencies or inclement weather as needed.
Other
-
Occasionally drive to suppliers to pick up items; must maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license, meet YMCA driving standards, and have proof of insurability throughout employment.

Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications
-
At least 1-and-a-half years' experience in construction, a construction trade, facility maintenance or pool operation

Must obtain a Certified Pool Operator's license within 90 days of hire

At least intermediate-level proficiency with standard office machines and business software, particularly Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree or certification in a related field

Three or more years' experience in construction or trades-related work experience

Understanding of basic construction/mechanical concepts

Valid Certified Pool Operator’s license for the State of Oregon

Previous experience working in a YMCA facility

Conversational fluency in Spanish

The work schedule is such that most work must be done Wednesday through Sunday during business hours. However, occasionally you might need to provide support for evening duties as needed.
