FIS Agent

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

• Employees will be dumping regular and oversized luggage/items into the baggage handling system from the AA cans and carts to Customs.
• Be able to observe the arrival of all international flights and document the accurate arrival and departures times of the flights as well as document passenger "hold" and "release" times and any other pertinent information regarding the status of the flights.
• Be able to provide baggage carousel assignments to ground handlers for the delivery of bags into the baggage control area of the FIS and observe proper placement and alignment to avoid any baggage jams during the unloading of baggage.
• Be able to ensure the safe, secure, and expeditious transit of international passengers and luggage through various facilities of the FIS with excellent customer service and good communication skills.
• Be able to move, arrange, and adjust baggage on the baggage carousel to accommodate additional baggage safely and efficiently.
• Responsible for scanning, coding, and separating incoming luggage to the proper destination according to flight hour
• Ensures that only authorized personnel is within the proximity of the international and domestic area
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, LICENSE, and/or CERTIFICATION

• Must have a valid driver’s license.

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE

• Airport or relevant experience preferred.

SKILL and/or ABILITIES

• Must be able to speak and understand both English and Spanish
• Must pass and obtain Airport ID process.
• Must pass a criminal background check as well as a drug screen prior to employment.
• Must be able to work safely in an environment containing caustic chemicals, cleaning materials, and noise.
• Must have schedule flexibility for the weekend, holiday, and night shifts.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds in confined spaces.
• Must be able to stand, lift, bend, push, and pull for extended periods of time
• Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment.
