Description
Position Summary
The Receiver is responsible for accurately receiving seafood products in order to maintain the integrity of inventory levels.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect all incoming trucks in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
- Print required reports, license plates/receiving labels
- Unload truck and inspect the condition of goods received
- Accurately identify and receive incoming product
- Move product to seafood cooler, properly rotate inventory – First In, First Out (FIFO)
- Properly receive product into the Target System
- Maintain HAACP standards
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and managers
- Maintain safe work environment according to all department procedures, federal and state regulations
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary for the job
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintain clean shipping supply area; comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
Requirements
- Forklift and reach truck experience required
- Ability to identify product by size, type, or product code
- Solid reading skills – must be able to read PO’s and match item on PO’s to items received
- Possess basic math and reasoning skills
- Ability to understand and execute instructions
- Possess general understanding of the warehouse and footprint
- Ability to operate inventory control equipment, i.e., bar-coding equipment, handheld devices)
