- Assist with quality food preparation and inventory maintenance.
- Assist with service to students and staff.
- Assist with the daily cleaning of work area and all kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are met.
- Set up breaks down serving lines (salad bar, hot food, ala carte etc).
- Complete daily meal count sheet.
- Operate kitchen equipment.
- Count money, makes change, completes related reports.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of money, weight measurement, and volume.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but basic written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to satisfactorily complete the sanitation workshop presented by the EVSC Food and Nutrition Department.
- Ability to work in a friendly manner with co-workers and students.
- Ability to perform job and communicate in a noisy environment.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of School Trustees policies.
- To perform the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk, hear, walk and continuously required to stand.
- The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk and is often required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl while performing the duties of this job.
- The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and repeat the same hand/arm/finger motion many times as in operating a cash register.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as milk crates, frozen foods, canned food, etc.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception, close, color, distance and peripheral vision.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in temperatures above 100E and is often required to go in and out of refrigerators and/or freezers with temperatures ranging from 37E to -10E.
- The employee will occasionally walk on slippery surfaces.
- The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints and interact with public and other workers.
- The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud to where you have to raise your voice to be heard.
- The employee has a greater than average risk of getting a minor injury such as cut or burn while performing the duties of this job.

New Employee Stipend
New regularly appointed employees will receive a $500 stipend after 90 calendar days of employment and have maintained a 90% attendance rate for that period.
