EVAPCO Incorporated, a worldwide leader in heat transfer technology, is looking for an experienced Facilities Engineering Manager at our Madera, California, facility.
Position Summary:This position is responsible for managing the planning, design, operation, and maintenance of facility infrastructure and equipment to support Evapco West’s operational, safety, production, sustainability, and security objectives. The role applies engineering principles and CAD software to develop and communicate specifications for facility modifications, capital improvements, and equipment installations.
The Facilities Engineering Manager oversees preventive and corrective maintenance programs, capital projects, and ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations through routine inspections, risk assessments, and recordkeeping for audits and reporting. This role coordinates with contractors, architects, and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery and provides technical oversight on facility plans and budget forecasts to identify efficiency opportunities.
This is a true first-level management position with full authority over staffing, performance management, and personnel decisions. The role is accountable for achieving departmental goals, staying within approved budgets, and leading a multidisciplinary team.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Team Leadership and Department Oversight
Lead, mentor, train, and manage departmental staff, including maintenance technicians, janitorial custodians, and IT technicians, ensuring continuity of both production and office operations.Maintenance Planning and Execution
Oversee training, staffing, resource allocation, and contracting for all preventive and corrective maintenance work orders, building improvements, and machinery installations. Optimize equipment uptime and facility safety through strategic maintenance programs.Facility Operations Management
Oversee facility utilities, building systems, sanitation, and infrastructure maintenance to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, security, and corporate sustainability standards.CMMS Administration
Administer and maintain the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for planning, scheduling, tracking, and archiving of work orders, personnel productivity, repair budgets, and spare parts inventory.Process and Equipment Improvement
Design and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, plant layouts, and equipment to enhance workplace safety, production efficiency, and capacity for future growth.Continuous Improvement
Analyze production and maintenance data to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with production, quality, EHS, and corporate engineering teams to support plant operations, drive performance improvements, and ensure successful integration of new equipment.Documentation and Compliance
Develop and maintain detailed documentation for equipment, processes, preventive maintenance procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).Capital Budget and Asset Management
Serve as the principal liaison to the General Manager for capital budgeting and purchasing, including annual budget input, forecasting, asset inventory, and cost analysis of facility upgrades.Project Oversight and Vendor Coordination
Direct and coordinate internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors on capital projects and outsourced maintenance services, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project schedules.Additional Duties

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field.
Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams, plan, prioritize, and execute tasks effectively.
Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on finding solutions, supporting internal customers, and fostering continuous improvement.
Ability to plan and facilitate meetings, document and track action items, record meeting minutes, and deliver data-based presentations.
Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is preferred.
3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance and familiarity with safety regulations and practices.
Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
