Produce Staff

We are hiring Produce Staff for our Garden Street location. Part time openings available from 20-30 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Customer Service

· Ensure that each guest receives outstanding guest service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, and solid product knowledge.

· Assist customers with produce questions and special orders. Offer samples and suggestions for purchase and preparation in friendly, courteous manner.

Merchandising

· Replenish and rotate displays, culling several times daily, and following stocking priorities set by manager

· Trim, wash, bundle produce, following priorities set by Produce Manager.

· Dispose of damaged or spoiled goods promptly; record department shrink promptly and accurately.

Department Maintenance

· Remove trash, clean cases and keep prep and storage areas in clean, orderly condition.

· Use equipment safely. Monitor cooler and walk-in temperatures and follow procedures for handling breakdowns.

· Advise Produce Manager of equipment repair and replacement needs.

Other Responsibilities

· Participate in periodic inventory.

· Answer and route phone calls, take and route messages as needed.

· Attend department and all-staff meetings.

· Perform other tasks assigned by Produce Manager, MOD and Store Manager.

Job Qualifications

· Familiarity with or interest in produce.

· Experience serving the public.

· Ability to stand for long periods.

· Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment.

· Ability to project friendly, outgoing personality.

General Qualifications

· Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands

· Organized, attention to detail.

· Familiarity with natural and organic foods

· Self-motivated, organized, responsible, flexible

· Regular, predictable attendance with ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business.

· Ability to project friendly, outgoing personality

· Written and spoken English proficiency

· Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $13.95 per hour
