**ONSITE POSITION**
BROAD DESCRIPTION
To achieve accurate and competitive estimates on all projects assigned and also continually strive to look for methods to improve accuracy and timely processing of requests for estimates and production processes.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Gathering material and labor cost information from vendors and/or engineering department in order to process timely and accurate product manufacturing estimate
2. Selecting optimum costs/prices in order to meet competitive situations in the marketplace.
3. Working closely with Sales and Product Engineering when questions arise as to construction costs, etc
4. Communicate with affected departments when planned due dates may be in jeopardy
5. Strive for high levels (goal is 98%) of accuracy and detail in estimating projects
6. Set up and monitor files on all projects
7. Process "re-run" projects in an expeditious manner and allow quick turn-around based on review of results from past order run
8. Look for and make suggest area for value engineering and/or alternative processes on new projects
9. Furnish budgetary information as requested by Sales/Marketing
10. Work with production/manufacturing to address NCR’s and ECR’s
11. Furnish variance information on Engineering Change notice forms
12. Contact suppliers to obtain information and prices for estimating projects, as needed
13. Develop standard data to quickly estimate projects
14. Work with manufacturing to provide time studies, line layouts, plant layouts, process improvements, and equipment capabilities
15. Work with SM Steering Committee & Director of Operations to present Lean Processes
16. Estimates tool costs, Assists with scheduling tool builds, repairs, certification processes, and maintenance
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Two (2) year degree in industrial, manufacturing, or related engineering with studies in time and motion development or equivalent years of related work experience.
EXPERIENCE
1. Minimum three (3) years experience in metal fabrication, layout, set up and/or estimating, preferably in the outside sign business.
Possess working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, AutoCAD and SolidWorks software. AS 400 knowledge would be a plus.
