What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at EVERENCE?
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for managing various tasks within the accounting department, including investment activities connected with the two insurance companies as well as entries related to banking and general ledger activity and support of annual tax and statutory filings.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Monitors and records investment activity and related issues within the Clearwater system
- Supports and completes annual and quarterly NAIC reporting for both insurance companies
- Manages cash flow and Management Service Fees across various entities
- Assist with the annual audit of multiple entities
- Tracks and monitors investment-related bank balances
- Supports tax filing process in the first quarter of the year
- Completes monthly bank reconciliations
- Trains and provides support for various roles within the department to create a backup for critical tasks
- Completes other tasks as defined by the Accounting Manager and Controller
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, business, or a related field.
Experience:
One to two years of experience within the industry or within a public accounting firm.
Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of computer systems, financial reporting, and investments, proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Accuracy with attention to detail
- Ability to manage deadlines and various ongoing tasks
- Ability to learn and take on new tasks and initiatives

Salary : $45,700 - $57,900
