Job Summary: The Winter Percussion director shall plan and teach percussion music to students interested in maintaining their skills on their percussion instrument over the course of the school year.
Essential Duties
- Recruit students to enroll in the Percussion Ensemble (group lessons, sectionals, or individual).
- Plan individual curriculum for students enrolled in Percussion Ensemble.
- Plan repertoire, make copies, organize apparel orders and distribution, schedule performance for a Winter Percussion ensemble experience.
- The Percussion Ensemble competes at 8 competitions annually.

Minimum Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
- Ability to direct and rehearse a Percussion Ensemlbe
- Ability to stay organized in order to plan events, copy music, distribute items and recruit volunteers.
- Knowledge of percussion techniques and pedagogy as well as modern percussion performance practices.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The Director has frequent contact with students and members of the community. Duties are normally performed in a school/classroom environment.
