Position Overview:
Oversee all aspects of plant operations including, but not limited to, personnel, productivity, transportation and logistics, safety compliance, production planning, maintenance, equipment operation, and departmental communication. Additional focus to include financial budgeting, forecasting, vendor negotiations, plant improvements, cost reduction, and administrative compliance. Implements strategy for all laundry-based operations. Typically works on projects and initiatives that span 1-2 years and focuses on the creation of systems, processes, and programs.
Essential Duties:
Plant Management
- Leading and Developing Talent: Manages departmental structure, development, and training of staff. Actively networks and sources for positions within the team.
- Project and Change Management: Plans and manages projects of low to moderate complexity related to departmental function. Manages change with direct reports and participates in the leadership coalition that supports the change.
- Manages, directs and supervises the production facility to include direct reports of Transportation Manager and Production Manager.
- Assists in development of standard operating procedures and maintain productivity standards.
- Assigns and coordinates the operational resources and plant layout required to execute each project and conducts meetings with staff.
- Trains, develops and counsels staff to achieve efficiency, waste and expense metrics within the work area of responsibility.
- Assures proper care and maintenance of all equipment.
- Manages work performed in the facility laundry areas including receiving, cleaning and distribution of laundry.
- Completes end-of-shift/weekly reports and other required reports as needed.
- Advises Human Resources with any hiring/termination needs and performance evaluations, as needed.

- Monitor and ensure all regulatory compliance requirements impacting operations.

- Maintain a harassment free environment with good employee morale by demonstrating good employee relations practices and utilizing HR consultation when needed.
- Practices Open Book Management Responsible for other duties as assigned.

- Works under the direct supervision of the General Manager.

Work Experience:
- 5 years supervisory/management experience, preferably in laundry operations or similar environment.
Education:
- High School Diploma

- Able to lift to 25 pounds occasionally.
