Position Description: (LOCATION: Meriden, CT)
Individual will (under close supervision) be assisting others or working alone, perform operations associated with the testing, adjustment, repair, and painting of gas meters and associated devices. Performs physical work both outdoors and indoors with material, hand tools, and equipment pertinent to the job. Ability to work for extended periods of time with meter proving equipment. Individual will load, paint, and remove gas meters for paint line as well as unload, sort, store, and take inventory of meters, equipment, and devices. Reads commercial and industrial meters and correcting devices. Performs necessary calculations as related to meter testing and other routines. Individual will work in a field and shop environment.
Position Requirements:
A High School Diploma or the equivalent (GED) is required. Individual must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle; list and move material in excess of 50 lbs. Ability to work individually at various workstations or cooperatively in production line type operations. Ability to perform physical work for extended periods of time. Some mechanical experience preferred.

Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
