Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores.
- Providing medication administration as prescribed and ensuring compliance with health care plans.
- Supporting individuals with disabilities, including those with autism or dementia, by implementing personalized care plans.
- Engaging clients in social and recreational activities to promote community involvement and skill development.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all areas meet health and safety standards.
- Assisting with heavy lifting when necessary to support clients in mobility or physical tasks.
- Documenting client progress and reporting any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate personnel.
- Must have valid driver's license and a vehicle. Must agree to use your vehicle to take the client out into the community. Mileage is reimbursed for this.
Experience
Ideal candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in home health care or working within group homes is preferred.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and best practices in client care.
- Experience working with individuals who have disabilities or special needs, particularly those with autism or dementia.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
