Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop satellite electrical subsystems, including avionics, power distribution, and interconnect systems
- Create schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard EDA tools
- Conduct hardware and layout reviews to ensure design robustness
- Plan and perform electrical testing from early prototypes to flight-ready systems
- Debug and troubleshoot hardware using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power meters
- Support sourcing and qualification of electrical components for space-grade applications
- Develop interface control documentation and electrical schematics for integration with other subsystems
- Assist with system-level integration and testing, including support during assembly and environmental testing
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- 2 years of experience taking designs from schematic to manufacturing
- Proficiency with electrical design and simulation tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, SPICE)
- Solid understanding of electronics fundamentals, power systems, and signal integrity
- Experience with lab equipment for testing and debugging electrical systems
- Familiarity with embedded systems and common peripheral interfaces (e.g., I2C, SPI, CAN, Ethernet)
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to engineering
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency (Green Card) required under U.S. export control regulations
- Willingness to work on-site in Burlingame, CA
- Experience with satellite systems, avionics, or electrical power systems (EPS)
- Exposure to the aerospace industry and space-specific design considerations
- Knowledge of system integration, flight hardware requirements, and space environmental constraints
