Overview
We’re recruiting for a high-performing Sales Director to lead US Government (USG) business development efforts, with a focus on the United States Space Force (USSF) and wider DoD sectors. This is a senior-level commercial hire within a pioneering company working at the forefront of space infrastructure and on-orbit solutions.
You’ll bring a hunter mentality, a deep network across the USG and USSF community, and the drive to win strategic deals in a mission-driven, fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full USG sales pipeline with a focus on USSF opportunity capture
- Identify, qualify, and close new business across DoD, IC, and federal government verticals
- Drive relationships with key USSF stakeholders (e.g., Space Systems Command, SDA, USSF HQ)
- Lead capture efforts, proposal development, and BD campaigns tied to the defense buying cycle
- Collaborate with internal product, engineering, and executive teams on GTM execution
- Represent the company at DoD and USSF events, securing influence and visibility
- Report directly to the CEO with input into strategy, customer success, and long-term positioning
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5-10 years of successful USG/DoD sales experience, ideally with clear wins tied to USSF programs
- True “hunter” profile – someone who opens doors, builds relationships fast, and closes with confidence
- Strong knowledge of the federal acquisition process, capture lifecycle, and proposal management
- Deep, actionable network within USSF, especially SSC and SDA
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proposal development experience, and commercial acumen
- Growth mindset, collaborative style, and the ability to thrive in ambiguity
Location & Flexibility
This role is based in Florida with hybrid flexibility. Candidates should be comfortable with CONUS travel for key meetings, site visits, and industry events.
