They are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to secure a global communications network as operations scale internationally. This person will be responsible for designing and implementing robust security frameworks, ensuring compliance with US government requirements, and leading security initiatives across cloud, ground stations, and network operations. The role will have a major influence on overall security posture and involves close collaboration with engineering, operations, legal, and compliance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement defensive security controls across cloud, production, and corporate environments.
- Deploy and manage SIEM solutions for log aggregation and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, policy, and compliance.
- Design and implement security architectures aligned with NIST 800-171 and FedRAMP standards.
- Establish and maintain CUI handling procedures for government contracts.
- Lead incident response and threat-hunting activities, ensuring detailed audit trails for compliance.
- 5 years of hands-on security engineering in production environments.
- Strong background in NIST 800-171, CUI handling, and FedRAMP compliance.
- Expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, AWS CDK) and knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, Go, Rust, etc.).
- Experience with government cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Proven ability to design defensive security controls for endpoints, SaaS, and critical infrastructure.
- Building log ingestion and compliance audit pipelines.
- Experience with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or GCP security toolsets.
- SIEM and endpoint security experience (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).
- Strong Linux administration skills in production environments.
- Familiarity with DFARS and government contracting security requirements.
