Responsibilities
- Create image product from the raw output of multiple high frame-rate individual sensors within a satellite-based electo-optical payload
- Help define and implement pre-launch sensor testing as well as on-orbit payload operations to calibrate and validate payload performance
- Work closely with other software engineers implementing operational image processing pipeline, which includes extensive onboard compute infrastructure
- Work closely with product and other engineering teams to iterate on the hardware capability and underlying image capture capability to ensure alignment with companies top-level product objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in Optics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field is required, with a graduate degree strongly preferred
- 7 years in imaging science with demonstrated expertise in pre-launch and in-orbit validation of imaging systems with emphasis on EO payloads
- Proficiency in Python and Jupyter notebook for data analysis, simulation, and algorithm development
- A minimum of 5 years working in a large, complex, interdependent organization that includes engineering and related functions
- Experience with multi-frame super resolution is preferred
- Expertise in simulation platforms such as DIRSIG and other modeling tools to generate synthetic datasets for sensor design and testing is preferred
