With full in-house diagnostic capabilities, we aim to examine, diagnose, and treat our patients effectively while providing clear follow-up for next steps. We are also proud to care for exotic pets (excluding farm animals and poisonous species), ensuring that all pets in our community receive the attention they deserve.
Position Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support our veterinarians in delivering high-quality urgent care to a variety of pets. This role is vital in assisting with patient check-in and check-out, reviewing treatment plans, and conducting diagnostic work-ups, including lab work and radiography. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the check-in and check-out process for patients.
- Review treatment plans with pet owners and provide education on post-visit care.
- Prepare and maintain diagnostic equipment and assist in performing lab work and radiography.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Help maintain a clean and organized environment for both pets and staff.
- Assist with the care of exotic pets in our facility.
- Support veterinarians with various tasks, ensuring smooth workflow and service delivery.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their pets' conditions and treatment plans.
- Participate in continuous learning and professional development related to veterinary practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional veterinary assistant education is a plus.
- Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude toward animals and their owners.
- Basic knowledge of animal behavior, breeds, and common health issues.
- Certification as a Veterinary Assistant is an advantage but not mandatory.
