GCP Platform Engineer

Platform Engineering & Cloud Architecture

• 11 years experience with platform engineering and architecting solutions for cloud platforms
• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks

Infrastructure as Code & Automation

• Hands-on experience using Terraform to manage large enterprise cloud environments
• Experience with Terraform modules, state management, and CI/CD integration
• Proficiency with infrastructure automation tools (GitHub actions, workflows)
• Experience with GitOps approaches to manage cloud environments
• GitHub workflow/action experience is mandatory for this role

Cloud Platform Expertise (Mandatory)

• GCP experience is mandatory - deep knowledge of core services including:
• Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions
• AI/ML services (Vertex AI, AutoML, BigQuery ML)
• Storage solutions (Cloud Storage, Spanner, BigTable, BQ)
• Networking (VPC, Load Balancers, Cloud NAT, Interconnect)
• Security (IAM, Cloud KMS, Security Command Center)
• Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and resource management

Programming & Scripting

• Strong Python skills - automation, data processing, and cloud SDK integration
• Strong JavaScript/Node.js skills - backend services and automation tooling
• Bash/Shell scripting for automation and system administration
• Experience with API development and integration

DevOps & Container Orchestration

• Strong DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline design
• Kubernetes skills required - cluster management, deployment strategies, monitoring
• Docker containerization and registry management
• Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)
• Monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring)

Data & AI/ML Platform Management

• Experience managing big data platforms (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc)
• Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure and model deployment pipelines
• Experience with data governance and privacy compliance
• Understanding of data lake and data warehouse architectures

Communication & Collaboration

• Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Experience in agile development environments
