Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnostic purposes.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed.
- Support various dental specialties including Endodontics, Pediatrics, General Dentistry, and Prosthodontics.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the practice.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and medical imaging techniques.
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable.
- Experience in taking X-rays and performing basic dental procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- A proactive approach to learning new techniques and procedures within the dental field.
- Previous experience in a dental receptionist role is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred.
