What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aircraft Performance Engineer position at Executive Recruiting Group?
We are seeking an Aircraft Performance Engineer that will be responsible for conducting aircraft performance analyses and supporting aircraft configuration design improvements, in accordance with company and regulatory requirements, with other engineering disciplines. You will develop and/or update processes and tools as necessary for the aircraft. This position also includes to join and support test campaign of POC articles from aircraft performance aspect to conduct engineering analysis and to identify/resolve issues. This is an on-site position in San Luis Obispo County, California.
Duties:
- Analyze aircraft performance for nominal and failure scenarios, and produce engineering report documents.
- Develop and extend performance analysis tools and processes to continue to build efficiency and
- capability going forward.
- Make requirements for Flight Science related systems (e.g., for electrical power units like battery and/or
- generator, flight controls, etc.)
- Collaborating with all related engineering teams on technical matters (e.g., aerodynamics, safety, mass,
- stability&control, structure, and systems).
- Working with engineers to develop the new aircraft design concept and the safety strategy during normal and
- emergency operation.
- In test campaign, predict flight/ground test results and compare the prediction to test data to identify and
- resolve issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a aerospace engineering area, with a Master's Degree is preferred.
5 to 10 years of experience as a performance engineer in the aerospace industry- can be Part 23, Part 25, Part 27 or Part 29
Experience in POC(proof of concept) ground or flight test rotorcraft or airplane.
Knowledgeable in rotorcraft and/or airplane design, performance analysis
General theoretical background in aerodynamics, flight dynamics and physics, mass properties.
General theoretical knowledge of optimization (e.g., power and energy, flight path
Strong programming skills in tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
General knowledge of 14 CFR Part 23/25/27/29 requirements for Flight Sciences
disciplines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
