Core - APC Hospitalist

Provides inpatient clinical services in coordination with and under supervision of hospitalist
physicians.

Requirements:

• post secondary training in field or equivalent experience 
• Nurse Practitioner 
• CPR with AED within 6 months of hire

Major Responsibilities:

1. Performs a broad range of medical services to inpatients on the hospitalist service.  These services will include: performing medical examinations, evaluations, assessments and diagnoses, prescribing medications and other therapies, coordinating and facilitating discharges, communicating with referring primary care physicians and inpatient consultants. 
2. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions medicines in accordance with established exclusionary formulary approved and regulated by the NH State Board of Nursing and Joint Health Counsel. 
3. Obtains and maintains Allied Health Practitioner Active or Provisional status with Exeter Hospital.
4. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards, as established by Core or Exeter Hospital. 
5. Records and documents clinical data as necessary to maintain, coordinate and/or expedite required services; and in accordance with Medicare guidelines where appropriate.
6. Assumes responsibility and accountability for time management and professional relationships 
7. Maintains and enhances current level of knowledge relative to professional practice, as well as continuing education requirements necessary for licensure and certification.

8. Renders patient care with high degree of service excellence, which will be measured by pre-determined patient satisfaction targets.
