Job Summary:
Exodus Recovery, Inc (Exodus) is looking to hire a per-diem Health Information Specialist for our Vista Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) located in Vista, CA.
The Health Information Specialist provides data and billing support to the Vista and Oceanside CSU's for the San Diego County Behavioral Health and Human Service contracted programs or other contracted/certified services and/or programs. Responsible for all billing-related tasks including a collection of billing data and data entry into the EMR. Collects and ensures medical records are assembled in standard order and are accurate and complete. Ensure files are stored in the designated area according to storage procedures. Maintains administrative data and the integrity of medical records. Performs other clerical tasks as needed, such as answering phones, faxing, and corresponding with outside vendors.
Requirements:
- Two (2) to Three (3) years experience in medical records, data entry, and/or clerical/administrative support.
- Department or Third-Party billing/data entry experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; word processing, and spreadsheets.
- Diplomatic approach to problem-solving, time management, and ability to take initiative in project completion.
- Must be pleasant with others on the job and display a good-natured cooperative attitude.
- Must be reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
- Must be careful about detail and thorough in completing tasks.
- Ability to work independently and show mature judgment.
- Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree, or administrative assistant experience preferred.
- Current CPR and MAB/CPI Certification preferred.
