Express Yourself Speech and Language Therapy LLC, is a pediatric private practice providing exceptional speech therapy and occupational therapy services. We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our superstar team. You will play a vital role in helping our clients improve their daily functioning which ultimately increases their quality of life. Your expertise in administering evaluations and providing exceptional treatment contributes to empowering our clients to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities- Use a comprehensive assessment battery that take into consideration all the unique characteristics and communication needs of each client
- Develop effective individualized treatment plans appropriate for each client to obtain optimal progress
- Implement comprehensive intervention techniques during treatment sessions that take into consideration all the unique characteristics and communication needs of each client
- Monitor each client's progress and revise each client's treatment plan as needed
- Complete weekly lesson plan for each client
- Complete weekly treatment notes for each client
- Complete a progress report for each client when required
- Educate parents and/or caregivers on strategies to promote independence with skills targeted in the therapy sessions to improve daily functioning
- Gain continuous knowledge regarding the current research in occupational therapy to provide the highest quality of care for each client
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid and active license from the Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners
- Pass a criminal background check
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other healthcare professionals
- Strong problem solving skills and critical thinking skills to assess each client's skills to develop effective individualized treatment plans
- Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient computer skills to complete documentation on a electronic health records platform
