Summary of Responsibilities:
The Chief Engineer/Building Manager is considered an at-will supervisory position and the person selected will act as the liaison between the tenants of 1522 First Avenue Condominium and Extell Management Services Inc. The Chief Engineer/Building Manager is responsible for exercising independent judgment in the oversight of the daily operations of the building including assisting management in the drafting and monitoring of the annual budget, oversight of the building’s mechanical systems, equipment, maintenance, repairs, cleanliness, the hiring, training, supervision and direction of staff, front desk operations, staff scheduling and payroll, overseeing tenant buildouts, facilitating move-ins/outs, ordering and distribution of supplies, planning ahead for emergencies, managing the work of vendors and contractors.
The Chief Engineer/Building Manager shall live off-site, be on call 24 x 7 for emergencies, and available to independently resolve any building, tenant, or staff related issues.
Qualifications
Summary of Qualifications:
Ideal candidates for the Building Manager will possess the following:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED and a vocational/technical background.
- A minimum of 5 years in working with electrical, mechanical, plumbing equipment and systems
- A hotel, residential, or office tower management background
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex operational matters on a daily basis.
- Facilities and operations experience with solid knowledge of building systems.
- A background in working with BMS (Building Management Systems and BuildingLink/Yardi)
- Must possess a working knowledge of painting and finishing work.
- Must possess a strong background in working with fire, life, health, and safety systems.
- Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Windows etc.
- Strong supervisory skills with 5 years’ experience managing building staff.
Compensation & Benefits:
1522 First Avenue Condominium offers competitive pay and benefits to include:
Annualized Base Salary: $90,000 - $150,000
