Job Role Summary
The advanced capability generalist geoscientist is expected to develop a broad range of fundamental geoscience skills (many at expert level) that support business needs in terms of opportunity generation, technical quality, development of complex problem solving abilities, and technical breadth and depth.
Performance dimensions including increased effectiveness and efficiency with regard to work quality and quantity, coordination and teamwork, demonstrating leadership, sound decision making, good business judgment and a focus on general interest are extremely important. These advanced technical and non-technical skills are expected to expand in scope and breadth through time, across projects and discipline over the course of a career. Skills required include the twenty three fundamental skills listed below (mostly Level 2-3) and an informed understanding of internal upstream business terminology, processes and systems. This knowledge will be obtained through a combination of multiple on-the-job experience and basic training.
