Our team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and professional support staff handle all aspects of eye/vision care, from general exams to complex surgeries. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversees safe laser use wherever lasers are utilized in the facility.
• Acts as a liaison between the clinical laser users and the LSO regarding concerns or questions related to clinical practice.
• Monitors compliance with the facility’s laser policies and procedures.
• Reviews laserrelated documentation and makes any recommendations for improvement to the staff and surgery center manager.
• Assists with auditing and assessing continuing education and training needs.
• Oversees patient care activities in the laser room and ensures time outs are completed along with proper cleaning activities.
• Provides patient care for RN specific procedures in the laser treatment areas such as IVs or administering IV meds, performing patient assessments, and providing patient education.
• Manages medication inventory in the laser treatment areas.
• Guides patient flow and care at time of entry to the holding room or laser treatment room until discharge.
• Reviews health history and specific instructions for what patients need to do prior to surgery.
• Explains procedures/treatment/discharge to patient and/or family members.
• Ensures that postdischarge calls are made to patients who have received laser treatments in the surgery center.
  
  

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of health care laws, regulations, and nursing care methods and procedures.
• Excellent bedside manners and communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of EMR/EHR.
• Laser safety and practice procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of administrative, engineering, and procedural controls for laser surgery as defined by National Standards and Regulations.
  
  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in California with the Board of Registered Nursing.
• Minimum two years of RN experience.
• Previous ophthalmic laser/plastics surgery experience (preferred).
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a vision care setting. Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required. This is a full time position with a comprehensive benefits package. Hourly rate will be determined based on experience and training of the candidate. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.

POSITION LOCATION: EYE-Q Vision Care Fresno (must be able to travel to our Clovis & Selma locations).

SCHEDULE: 4 10-hour shifts (Tuesday-Friday).

PAY RANGE: $46.82 - $63.99 per hour depending on skills, experience, and certifications.
