```Duties``` - Assist optometrist in providing patient care and performing various tasks in an optometric setting - Prepare patients for examinations by taking medical history and performing preliminary tests - Perform visual acuity and color vision testing - Administer eye drops and other medications as directed by the optometrist - Conduct diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records - Clean and maintain equipment and instruments - Assist with contact lens fittings, insertion, and removal - Educate patients on proper eye care and contact lens hygiene ```Qualifications``` - High school diploma or equivalent - Previous experience as an optometric assistant or in a similar role preferred - Knowledge of medical coding systems and terminology - Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols - Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (Epic experience is a plus) - Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and common eye conditions - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation - Basic math skills for retail transactions (retail math) - Familiarity with medical office procedures and medical records management This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Optometric Assistant.
