What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Technician position at Eyes Of Texas?
Private optometric practice in Bryan, Texas is looking for a full-time medical technician to join our team. Our focus will be on independent eyewear lines, high-quality service and materials, medical and vision exams. Experience in the field strongly preferred but we will train the right applicant.
Duties:
- Preparing patients for the eye exam by doing special testing and visual acuities
- Assisting patients in selecting eyeglasses
- Adjusting and repairing eyeglasses
- Answering the phone, scheduling appointments
- Greeting and checking in patients, collecting payment
- Verify insurance, correctly interpret vision plan coverage, process orders
Requirements:
- Customer service oriented
- Work effectively with coworkers and patients
- Strong ability to multi-task
- Organized and detail oriented
Ideal Candidate:
- Working knowledge of vision plans and health insurance plans
- Previous medical field experience
- Previous retail or hospitality experience
- 2 years of retail experience
- Bilingual
- Must be teachable and willing to learn
