Department Title: Undergrad Intern – Global Fund Administration & Oversight, Shareholder Reports Team

Location: The intern candidate must be based in NYC, NY or Rancho Cordova, CA this summer, and be able to commute into the NYC or Rancho Cordova office on a Hybrid basis.

Position Summary: 

The Shareholder Reports team’s top goal in 2025 is to create efficient workflows across our various group of Funds for Franklin Templeton’s largest and most recent acquisitions. These acquisitions include Legg Mason and Putnam. The team aims to develop harmony across these reports, and we are seeking an intern to join this efficiency journey with us.

In support of this goal, we are leaning into AI tools to help with our review and invoice validation process, which are currently done manually. The intern selected for this role will have a real opportunity to collaborate across internal and external teams as we drive our vision forward.

In addition to the above, we are also responsible for developing reports to support Manager’s discussions of fund performance and commentary regarding material fund changes.

Team Culture:

We have a culture of collaboration and work across several groups throughout the firm. These groups include Investment Commentary Writers, Legal Performance and Oversight/Financial Reporting to ensure content in the shareholder reports is correct.

The Team also works directly with Broadridge, the service provider who is responsible for the tailored shareholder reports.

A Global Fund Administration & Oversight, Shareholder Reports Team Intern at Franklin Templeton can expect to gain:

  • Better understanding of shareholder reports and the role of service providers and various internal teams.
  • In depth knowledge of AI capabilities for certain tools such as Power Automate, Alteryx, and Power BI.
  • A general understanding of Fund expenses.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Ensure commentary from the Investment Writers is received in a timely manner, and the commentary is reasonable based on provided guidelines. 
  • Responsible for making sure material fund changes from Legal are received, reviewed and sent to TPA for inclusion in TSR.
  • Documenting Print Production workflow procedures and checklists and identifying any potential risk areas.
  • Perform or assist with any AI testing required specifically related to print production workflow and vendor invoices.

Ideal qualifications:

  • Background in Accounting or Finance.
  • Organized, Self-Starter, Strong Communicator
  • Proficient with Excel, Powerpoint, and Word
  • Some exposure to AI solutions are a plus but not required.

Compensation Range: This is a full-time internship where students will work approximately 35 – 37.5 hours per week and earn competitive hourly pay of $26 - $31 USD per hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
