Machine Operator

Job Description

Machine Operator -   The machine operator may provide set up or operate machines that handle textile manufacturing processing tasks to include weaving, twisting, winding, slitting, warping or quilling.  

Education

Tasks and Work Activities

• Operators may pull yarn, thread, or fabric through needles, guides and machine rollers of equipment
• Monitor machines operations for quality defects in materials
• Start/Stop machine as needed to add fill yarn or make adjustments to ensure the machine is functioning properly
• Inspect machine to determine if repairs are needed and notify appropriate personnel.   
• Process orders and check for defects and inspect products to specification on job sheet
• Follow directions and complete assignments per job order paperwork
• Support all 5S activities

1. All materials supplied are maintained for the area, including yarn, tubes, etc
2. Remove all yarn, etc, when the job is complete
3. Participate in 5S audits

• Support the AS9100 quality management system
• Keep work area neat and clean
• Other responsibilities as required by management

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Indoors – This position is located in the production plant.  
• The typical work day is a primarily working in the production plant
• Employee must be able to bend, stretch, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Duration of a Typical Work Week – This position is a four(4) day work week consisting of 10 hours per day.
