What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cash Banker(Metairie) position at Fair Grounds Race Course and Slots?
Essential Functions –
- Safeguards Main Bank assets and safekeeping funds.
- Adheres to all company money handling policies and procedures.
- Handles all cash transactions between department staff.
- Maintains key control as custodian of sensitive keys through use of the Electronic Key Box (EKB).
- Verifies video poker drop funds accepted into Main Bank accountability and verifies all drop paperwork.
- Verifies HRM drop funds accepted into Main Bank accountability and verifies all drop paperwork.
- Empties SST machines, verifies the funds and complete drop paperwork.
- Completes fill and draw transactions when cashiers need additional monies.
- Prepares revenue reports and video poker deposit during drops and verifies mutuel deposits daily. Also prepares HRM paperwork from the drop.
- Controls custody and issuances of various departmental impressed banks, if any (i.e. food, beverage, mutuel, admissions).
- Verifies cashier packets (revenue envelopes) from various bank custodians.
- Oversees funds levels and replenishment of the Glory, NRT and Player’s Bank.
- Verifies and helps perform monthly inventory.
- Orders office supplies and supplies for the parlor (food, beverages, toner, etc.
- Verifies orders when received (forms, food, beverage, etc.)
- Helps prepare employee schedules.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Fills in as Manager on Duty (MOD) when needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Education and/or Experience: High school degree or GED required. Three (3) years’ experience in cash operations or banking operations; experience preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common documentation. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies or members of the staff. Ability to write and present information to management in a reasonable manner. Ability to perform normal mathematical computations in regard to the implementation of current duties.
Licenses/Certificates: Must be 21 years or older. Must have the ability to obtain a Racing License, Video Poker Permit and ABO Card.
