Credit and Collections Specialist

Summary

Responsible for AR collections activity to reduce past-due customer balances.

Essential Job Duties

• Identify, verify and resolve unpaid accounts through positive customer service outreach to customer to process payments.
• Research and resolve customer billing inquiries and disputes.
• Work with AR Specialist to research payments and account reconciliations.
• Report on collections activities with supervisor and assist in preparing monthly reports.
• Respond to customer inquiries, communicate with field staff on collection issues and disputed items.
• Determine credit limits and payment terms for new customers based on customer credit reports.
• Analyze existing customer accounts to update payment terms based on current credit reports and payment history.
• Make recommendations for third party collections to supervisor.
• Assist supervisor on daily AR reporting and activity for management.

Required Qualifications - Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)

• Must have one to three years of directly related experience.
• Previous AR experience in a business-to-business environment is required

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products - specifically Excel, and Outlook.

• Ability to work under moderate supervision.
• Strong customer service skills.

Work Environment - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

• General office conditions. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
