What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Fairfield County Ohio?
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Housekeeper is responsible for the physical cleanliness of the building each shift.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Sweeps and mops floors and stairs; Vacuums, cleans, and shampoos carpets; Strips and waxes floors.
Cleans bathrooms (toilets, sinks, floors, countertops, walls, mirrors) and light fixtures; Replaces and changes supplies in the bathroom; Washes glass doors and windows; Washes out trash bins; Takes out trash and changes liners; Collects recycling.
Wipes down walls, blinds, and woodwork; Checks and light bulbs; Turns off lights.
Checks and maintains inventory of cleaning supplies in storage area.
Makes minor and light repairs as needed; Sets up and breaks down chairs and tables for meetings and events.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Other related duties as assigned.
Valid Ohio Driver's License
High School Diploma or Equivalent
QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years custodial or environmental engineer experience.

Works indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to inclement weather. Risk of injury or exposure to contagious diseases or chemicals is minimal when proper safety procedures are followed.
Working hours are 7:00am-4:00pm.

Knowledge of chemicals and MSDS; Ability to repair and maintain cleaning equipment (sweepers, steam cleaners…); Knowledge of alarm systems and shutoff locations and procedures for building water, gas, and electrical shut offs.*
