M Health Fairview is looking for a Float Laboratory Care Technician (LCT) to work in the Central West Region Clinics including M Health Fairview Clinic - Highland Park, M Health Fairview Clinic - Roselawn, M Health Fairview Clinic - Rice Street, M Health Fairview Clinic - Midway, M Health Fairview Clinic - Riverside, M Health Fairview Clinic - New Brighton, M Health Fairview Children's Clinic - University. The hours for this position are 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday, with one rotating Saturday shift every other month.
Responsibilities Job Description
Working with diverse populations within a healthcare environment, the LCT plays an important role in providing quality, proficient and professional services in keeping with Fairview Values as they interact with our patients, families and co-workers. The LCT performs laboratory specimen collection at various Fairview or outreach locations, as well as, provides for safe and secure specimen handling and point of care testing. Responsible for accurately entering orders and collection information into the Laboratory Information System and associated subsystems; monitoring computer logs for incomplete work; scheduling tests/procedures and providing results in LIS/HIS and over the phone, the LCT's attention to detail and accuracy are the foundation for our providing quality laboratory services. Working as an individual or team member, the LCT continuously works towards providing quality service improvement and optimum support to the department and team members in achieving Fairview's goals.

Following established guidelines to obtain specimens and perform procedures, prioritizing work to achieve optimal patient outcomes, information Processing, maintaining a safe work environment, demonstrating ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served. Qualifications
Required
- At least 18 years of age
- High School diploma/GED
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
Education
- Completion of a formal phlebotomy education program OR-
- Completion of three months of full-time clinical phlebotomy and laboratory experience OR-
- Enrollment in MLT or MLS program, including completion of a phlebotomy course.
Preferred
- Prior laboratory experience in a hospital or clinic setting in a similar capacity

- Demonstrate the ability to work under stress in a variety of situations.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Demonstrate manual dexterity.
- Demonstrates competence and proficient skills in collecting blood samples.
