M Health Fairview is looking for a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist at Fairview St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN. We are known for our award-winning heart, stroke and cancer care. Imaging Technologists deliver services to patients and physicians through the creation of high quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. St. John's offers 24/7 Imaging services to Inpatient Units and Emergency patients We have outpatient access seven days a week.

Schedule: This is a Baylor .9FTE position. The shift length will be 12 hours. Typical Baylor work schedule is nights. Every Friday and Saturday, 6:30PM to 6:30AM.

Responsibilities Job Description
Maintains and prioritizes work to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs
Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
Participates in creating a culture of patient safety and demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness
Verify patient identification and documentation
Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
Applies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures
Ensures patient data integrity
Adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures
Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes
Follows infection control guidelines
Serves as a resource for other healthcare team members
Responds appropriately to emergent situations
Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving
Assesses the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances
Acts as a resource for problem-solving resolution
Completed all require continuing education to uphold their imaging licensure
Participates as an active team member
Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position
Cleans and maintains room and supplies
Provides integrated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care.

Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines
Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly.

Follows MRI Safety protocols
Accepts new technology as it’s introduced into the facility
Participates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations
Qualifications
Required:
- Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
- Basic Life Support - from American Red Cross or American Heart Association and current before date of hire
- Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements
Preferred:
- 1 or more years of experience in a related role
- Additional certifications in Imaging
- ARRT MRI certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire
Additional Requirements:
Understanding of current ACR Guidelines for MRI Safety
Knowledge of quality control and safety standards
Strong interpersonal skills
