What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRI Technologist position at Fairview Health Services?
The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team.
Schedule: This position will be working a 1.0 FTE (80 hours every two week pay period). The shift length will be 8 hours on the evening shift, Monday through Friday 3:00PM-11:00PM. On-call and holidays on rotational basis.

Responsibilities
Maintains patient care
- Performs examinations accuratley and efficiently
- Identifies relevant data from images accurately
- Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
- Ensures patient safety and emergency preparedness
- Documents patient information
Ensures proper film identification on all images
- Accurately completes computer functions-edits, status changes, logging
- Accurate film marking and jacket preparation
- Achieves quality diagnostic images by use of accurate positioning of patients and correct operation of equipment
Performs training and education duties
- Participates in the orientation of new employees
- Responsible for the training of students
Maintains equipment
- Correctly operates and optimizes the equipment
- Understands the structure visualized and its significance
Qualifications
Required
ARRT Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) - from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements
Preferred
Additional education in Imaging or Healthcare
Two years of MRI experience
MRI Certification within 18 months of hire or transfer to the role
