M Health Fairview is looking for a Nursing Station Technician at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN. This position is 72 hours per two weeks on the DAY shift, for 12 hour shifts, every third weekend, block schedule, weekends 1 & 64and is eligible for benefits such as: PTO, dental/medical insurance, and more. The starting base rate of pay for the Nursing Station Technician is $22.50. Candidates with experience may be brought in at a higher rate of pay.

About this Unit:

Looking for an opportunity to gain experience on multiple units? If so, our Float Pool team is an excellent opportunity! During orientation, you will be based in Medical Surgical units and will float to each unit with a preceptor and your over-all orientation time, as well as unit-specific orientation time, will be determined by level of experience.

In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fasted paced unit. Other job duties include:

• Patient care such as personal hygiene, vitals, daily activities, repositioning, transporting, and feeding
• Setting up and maintaining patient rooms
• Ordering and stocking of suppliesa
• Answering telephone calls as able

Required:

License/Certification/Registration

• Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program

Or

• Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)
• Prefer 6 months acute care/med surg experience.

Or

• Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program

Or

• Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position

.AND

• Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants much be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
