We are seeking a pediatric physical therapist to join our team at the University of MN Masonic Children’s Hospital!
This physical therapist will serve acute pediatric patients of a variety of diagnoses and provide safe and effective delivery of patient care within scope of practice. This includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, planning, intervention and establishing outcomes. The University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital campus provides a wide range of medical specialties along with pediatric therapy and is designed to foster the highest level of collaboration between specialty physicians and pediatric therapists.
- FTE 0.5, authorized to work 40 hours per pay period.
- Schedule: Monday and Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm and one weekend (Saturday/Sunday) per month.
- One holiday per year.
M Health Fairview Rehabilitation offers a broad range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, three post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs.

Responsibilities Job Description
The physical therapist partners with patients and their families while performing evaluation and re-evaluation
Develop an individualized plan of care through coordination
Capture and apply pertinent data, performs examination, and resolves treatment diagnosis
Analyze data to identify needs and potential risks, settles prognosis for recovery, and establishes individualized goals
Implements and modifies care plan based on reassessment and patient response
Coordinates care and communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team for all aspects care & establishes appropriate discharge plan
Partners care team to provide skilled intervention
Implements and alters treatment to reflect change in patient status and response to treatment
Assesses patient and/or caregiver learning needs and provides appropriate education
Documentation/Billing
Uses acceptable medical terminology and follows professional practice standards.
Completes documentation in a timely manner per department standards
Stays in sync with department billing standards
Professional Expectations
Prioritizes tasks and patient care for effective time management.
Understands and follows professional licensure/certification requirements
Advises team members and/or supervises students as designated
Pursues professional development to support clinical standard processes
Quality Improvement
Crafting and implementing improvements, and participates in and supports entity/system initiatives
Qualifications
Required
Physical Therapy registration/licensure in the state of Minnesota or temporary license in MN
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred
Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
Pediatric acute care experience
1 year of physical therapy experience
