Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Mental Health Float Pool department at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank location in Minneapolis, MN.

The Mental Health Float Pool serves a wide spectrum of patients within the Behavioral Health department including children/adolescents, adults, and seniors.
Schedule: This position will be working 0.75 (60 hours every two weeks) on the night shift (7pm-7am). The shift length is 12 hours and this position will work an every third weekend rotation.

About our Mental Health Float Pool department at the UMMC West Bank
- The Float Pool consists of about 30 RN’s and 60 Psych Associates.
- The Float Pool RN is responsible for providing comprehensive care to unstable/stable patients within the Behavioral Health department. Float pool RNs are able to demonstrate their flexibility in the work environment and prompt response to changes in workload and assignments, as they are trained to work on multiple different units and serve a wide variety of patients.

Responsibilities Job Description
As a Registered Nurse in the Mental Health Float Pool department, you will be responsible for:
- Utilizing a detailed process to assess the physical and mental health needs of the patient, which will provide a framework from which patient care is planned [knows disease processes, therapy, complications, expected outcomes for specific patient population(s)]
- Contributing to the development of an individualized treatment plan in collaboration with the inter-disciplinary team providing a comprehensive plan of care.
- Administering medications according to a policy used for the management of behavioral patients with knowledge of actions, contraindications, side effects, and desired outcomes.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the nursing interventions in meeting the identified emotional, psychological, and physical needs, making revisions based on these outcomes.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Current RN Licensure and BLS required.
- 1 Year RN experience in mental health.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
