Overview
Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurs e (RN) to join our SAU/PACU team at our M Health Fairview Lake's Hospital in Wyoming, MN!
Our Same Day Surgery nursing staff provides quality and compassionate care for patients before and after same-day surgery/procedure as well as surgeries that occur before and during admission to the hospital. We provide emotional & educational support with preoperative phone calls, during their stay with us and post-operative follow-up phone calls. Because our department has a rapid turnover of short-term patients, our staff must have good assessment skills, the desire to work as a team and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
Schedule:
This SAU/PACU nursing position will be working 48 hours every two weeks on the rotating day/evening shift and 8 hour shifts. Schedule requires call shifts during the week (1-2 week nights / month), on weekends (every 6th-8th weekend) and holidays. (Hours of operation 5:45-8:30pm)

Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse in Perioperative Services, you will be responsible for:
- Assess patients and patient condition according to Perioperative Policy and ASPAN Standards, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s) who are anticipating and recovering from procedure(s) and anesthesia.
- Coordinate care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
- Demonstrates ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
- Evaluates care, adapts interventions and prioritizes care based on patient assessment, uses resources to respond to emergency situations.
- Provide ongoing Patient Education.
- Cultivates a culture of improvement, efficiency and innovative thinking.
- The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedure, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota RN License in good standing
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years recent PACU or ICU experience
- BLS upon hire
- ACLS and PALS by end of orientation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
