This leader will oversee the information technology needs and systems for Fairview Pharmacy Solutions and its clients. This leader is responsible for the overall strategy and planning for national pharmacy, along with the ongoing management, integration, design, implementation, maintenance, and support of various information systems. Evaluation and identification of the optimal architecture for data warehouse capabilities and platform solutions for Fairview and the platform’s national clients are key deliverables.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to creating business value through technology, continuing to expand data management and data warehousing capabilities, and approving vendor negotiations and IT architecture to support strategic growth and or development of new services. Additional focus areas include implementing database and network designs and ensuring systems security.
This role reports to president of Fairview Pharmacy Solutions. Additionally, this position will partner directly with the Fairview Health Services executive responsible for application delivery and digital technologies.
Responsibilities Job Description
Oversees the use, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of Fairview Pharmacy Solutions and Fairview Pharmacy Services IT systems, including servers and software applications.
- Responsible for computer related activities including analysis, installation, implementation and maintenance of computer software and hardware. Partners with leadership and other end users to plan and prioritize these activities.
- Collaborates with software vendors to perform analyses, design, programming, modification, and installation of computer software.
- Ensures all systems, applications and networks meet requirements for confidentiality, integrity, availability, and accountability based on sound risk management practices, using recognized IT standards and protocols.
- Oversees all software acquisition and maintenance contracts, soliciting involvement and participation of other management team members as appropriate.
- Establish rules for data governance to ensure system security, functionality, and usability for end users.
Leads strategic, operational and resource planning and ensures alignment and support of Fairview pharmacy Solutions and FPS’ strategy, applying knowledge and understanding of technology, tools, and trends.
- Achieves business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives and management of current and future IT systems.
- Establishes IT departmental goals, objectives and operating procedures consistent with the strategic plan and core values.
- Regularly reports to senior management and other groups on status of strategic plan, budget, and project deliverables. Ensures the timely receipt of data and reports needed to demonstrate business goals and support strategic decisions.
- Educates senior management about current and predicted IT technologies, trends, opportunities, and threats.
- Partners with Fairview Health Services IT executives as both a customer as well a vendor.
- Defines, implements, and supports resource plans for Fairview Pharmacy Solutions and FPS including help desks, telecommunications, and networking; data and business analytics; programming, power BI, AI and data warehouse.
Manages IT Department staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or a STEM-related field
Preferred Education:
- Healthcare, science-related or information technology master’s degree
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of IT department leadership
- Minimum of 3 years of healthcare-related IT experience.
Preferred Experience:
- Pharmacy acumen
