Coffee Shop Manager

The Coffee Shop Manager will provide leadership of the Coffee Shop at the Dyer location of Faith Church.

Key Roles:

• Deliver quality customer service to all Coffee Shop guests, maintaining that the guest comes first, by discovering and responding to customer needs with a heart of service and an attitude of ministry
• Manage and disciple the volunteer teams, through recruiting, training, appreciating, and organizing
• Create and distribute weekly and monthly schedules for all volunteer positions, ensuring appropriate coverage and rotations; providing coverage when needed
• Implement systems, processes, and policies for the Coffee Shop which support and align with the overall church vision, goals, policies, and protocols
• Manage all financial responsibilities of the coffee shop including the Point of Sale system, balancing the drawer, invoice, and receipts, preparing deposits, and maintaining cash reserves
• Ensure compliance with all food-handling, business, and government agencies
• Verify all machines are clean and in proper working order while maintaining good communication with Equipment Vendors
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and an appropriate level of inventory within the Coffee Shop

Competencies:

• Understands and supports the vision of Faith Church and how the Coffee Shop ministry fulfills that vision
• Possesses knowledge of and/or education of Coffee Shop best practices
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
• Proficient in P.O.S. systems
• Knowledgeable of G-Suite and database management systems

Experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• Customer service experience in a retail or restaurant environment (minimum 1 year)
• Experience in a supervisory role (minimum 1 year)
• Previous volunteer experience in a church environment s a plus

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk and will occasionally be required to do some lifting (up to 50 pounds)

Availability: Wednesdays, Saturday/Sunday services (present 1 Saturday/mo, and 2 Sundays/month) (including major holidays), special events, back-up as needed.
