POSITION/TITLE: Youth Ministry Resident
POSITION PROFILE: The Ministry Residency Program is a leadership development initiative. It is designed for those who are completing their college studies or have completed their college studies, or equivalency, and already have a sense of the calling/career path they want to pursue. The program is designed to be a bridge from college or secular career to ministry, giving residents invaluable ministry experience that will better prepare them for more permanent roles within the church.
Within a specific area of ministry, residents will be given responsibilities comparable to that of a director. In addition, residents receive weekly leadership development training, ministry coaching, complete quarterly studies and lead ministry activities.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professing, growing, committed Christian who has a passionate love for God, lives according to the Word of God, strives to walk in the Spirit, and meets the qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7. (1 Timothy 4:6-16; Galatians 5:16-25; 1 Peter 5:1-4).
- Belief in an equipping model for ministry where teamwork and lay mobilization according to gift and passion is valued and practiced.
- Genuine love for youth evidenced in an approachable, fun-filled manner.
- Understands and identifies with today’s youth culture and knows how to relate to the youth today emotionally and spiritually. Also knowing how God’s Word relates to youth in today’s world.
- Has or is on track to completing at least a Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrates initiative in ministry. A self-starter able to further the ministry’s vision as initiated by the Youth Pastor.
- Teachable; willing to be guided and mentored by the Youth Pastor in all areas of ministry.
REPORTS TO: Youth Pastor
WORKS WITH: Youth Worship Director, Youth Volunteers
MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Aide in the planning, organization, and execution of midweek services programming.
- Participates in a team teaching approach to worship services alongside the Youth Pastor.
- Collaborates with Youth Pastor in planning and running events, service projects, camps, etc…
- Participates in the planning of the vision and goals for the ministry year.
- Helps recruit volunteer staff.
- Effectively utilize and/or direct the use of website, email, and social media to engage parents and students for the ministry.
- Meet weekly with Youth Pastor with the goal to be mentored in life and in ministry.
- Participate in local and stateside missions trips as run by the Youth Pastor.
- Join local youth networks to partner in community-wide youth initiatives.
- Get on school campuses for the purpose of building relationships with students and staff for the purpose of evangelism.
CHURCH ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage in regular supervision with the Youth Pastor.
- Has a Western Evangelical orientation of theology and is in full agreement with Faith E’s statement of belief.
- Fully support and live out Faith Evangelical Church’s Mission, Vision and Value statements.
- Deal helpfully and constructively with all other staff members, lay leaders and volunteers within the Faith Evangelical Church body.
- Represent Faith Evangelical Church in a Christ-like manner in all arenas of life.
WORKING SCHEDULE: Exempt full-time salaried position (at least 40 hours per week, schedule determined by weekly ministry needs. Expected to be at midweek youth group, allowed 3 misses a year).

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
