The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System:
TITLE: HEALTH & PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate Massachusetts Licensure
- Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Physical Education, Health or Exercise Science
REPORTS TO:
School Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach skills, knowledge, and healthy attitudes based on Health Frameworks and curriculum.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior for a productive learning environment.
- Participate in the development and implementation of Standards Based Units.
- Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school
department and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
- Explain, interpret, and involve the entire school building staff, parents, and support services in the
Comprehensive Health and Physical Education Program.
- Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing student health,
attitudes, and learning problems.
- All other responsibilities listed in the collective bargaining agreement between the FREA and the Fall
River School Committee.
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
In accordance with the Fall River Educators Association contract. Continued employment is contingent on work performance, program need, and funding.
